Mom Anxiety
-
Hey Mama, I see you.
Slow down for a second.
Motherhood can be a bittersweet, complicated journey. Some days you can feel like you’ve got it all figured out and then the next you could be thrown into a full blown anxiety attack. And the truth is, is that we have A LOT on our shoulders, 24/7. We are worried about so much, all of the time. We even worry about things we cant control.
I personally wasn’t prepared for the amount of thinking that went into getting through a single day with a baby. Not only staying on top of household chores and responsibilities, but the sleep schedules and feedings, and making sure I was present during playtime, and staying in touch with family and friends. It’s hard work being so many titles and I’m convinced that being a Mom is the hardest but most rewarding job in the world.
So when the weight of your titles and responsibilities feel too heavy remember;
You are enough. Mom guilt is the worst. You are doing a great job. If you love your baby and you keep trying to do your best, you are doing things right. Nobody knows your baby better than you do. You were once one.
When you feel like you can't get everything done in a day.. Remind yourself that that’s okay. It’s okay to prioritize your day and slow TF down sometimes. At the end of the day, what really matters? Not the dishes, ill tell ya that.
When time feels like it’s flying by, remember...
The days are long and the years are short, and it’s okay to feel the reality of both. Some days are hard and long. Some days, you simply grit your teeth and pray for bedtime.
AND THAT’S OKAY.
It doesn’t mean you’re a bad mom. It doesn’t mean you are wishing away the baby years. It simply means you are human and you need a reset. The only way to survive and thrive is to try your best to be present and soak up each new day, no matter how exhausting they are.
